John Deare (1759-1798) was a British sculptor who worked in Rome, creating ambitious Neoclassical marble reliefs that were among the most accomplished of the period. His large relief of The Judgement of Jupiter demonstrates a command of complex multi-figure composition rivaling ancient Roman sarcophagus reliefs.
