French artist François Boucher painted this intimate scene of a family taking their morning meal. The elegant figures gather in a well-appointed room, children at play while adults sip their drinks. Rococo luxury pervades every surface.
Boucher was the favorite painter of Madame de Pompadour and the French court. His scenes of aristocratic life defined an era's taste. This work hangs at the Louvre in Paris.
