Working in walnut veneered with ebony, André Charles Boulle sculpted this European sculpture, dating to ca. 1710–20. Made from walnut veneered with ebony, marquetry of engraved brass and tortoiseshell, gilt-bronze mounts, verd antique marble, it measures 34 1/2 × 50 1/2 × 24 3/4 in. (87.6 × 128.3 × 62.9 cm).
It's part of the highlighted collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, in the European Sculpture and Decorative Arts department. The Met acquired this piece as part of its public domain collection, and high-resolution images are freely available.
